If you are using Windows 10 on your PC, then this article will give you a way to access various functions directly via keyboard. While mouse makes things convenient for the average user, using a keyboard is much faster. In this article, let us take a look at some of the most helpful and practical keyboard shortcuts for Windows 10.

Windows Key – In Windows 10 when you press Windows key the start menu opens. Windows 10 start menu is the mix of Windows 7 and Windows 8 styles. By simply pressing Windows Key you directly type-in the applications name or anything else you want to search and press Enter to open.

Windows Key + L – Use this combination to quickly lock your pc in all windows versions. You can also press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and then press Enter to lock the screen. But pressing fewer keys is always quicker and saves time.

Windows Key + D – It will minimize all windows that are currently active and show you the Desktop. If you press this again, then the last active window will open up.

Windows key + E – To see your stored stuff in Windows Explorer just press this combination of Keys and Windows Explorer opens. This option is great to quickly access your files without using the mouse.

Windows Key + R – If you want to run something quickly on your PC then press this key and the run box opens, type the name of a program, folder, document or any Internet resource and Windows will open it for you.

Windows Key + Tab – For thumbnail view of all open programs on the desktop quickly just press it and select that window which you want to open. This will save time as you don’t require to use the mouse to switch between windows.

Windows Key + I – It will open Windows 10 settings window where you can configure the network, backups, Wi-Fi, privacy, security and so on. You can use this option to make changes in the system configuration and keep your PC or Laptop safe.

Ctrl + Shift + Esc – Pressing this combination of keys will open up task manager on your computer. You can see that how many applications are currently running on your system as well as you can end the tasks also. This shortcut is available in previous versions as well.

Windows Key + C – This is another a handy shortcut, to listen Cortana simply press Windows Key + C and it gets enabled.

These shortcuts not only make things quicker for you, but also help you ignore the pesky mouse for most tasks on your computer.
